Fasting is about setting aside distractions to draw closer to God and is one of the most powerful spiritual disciplines.

There’s a fast for everyone, whether you try the Daniel Fast and cut out meat, sweets, and alcohol, eliminate entertainment with a Media Fast, or just drink liquids in a Complete Fast. Or you can do what’s called a Dummy Fast and abstain from the things that pacify you, whatever it is that you’ve grown dependent on.

Prayer & Worship Nights

Press into the Lord by adding corporate worship and prayer to your personal fast! We’ll be gathering together for prayer and worship in the sanctuary at 7 pm on both Friday, January 10 and Friday, January 17.

End of Fast Celebration

We’re breaking the fast together and celebrating what the Lord has done on Sunday, January 26 at 5 pm in Room 203! Enjoy soup, bread, and fellowship with us! We’ll follow it up with a Leadership Meeting at 6:00 pm to discuss important details and updates for our upcoming year.

Ask the Lord to show you areas to target during your time of fasting and prayer. Here are some places to start:
  • Declare our dependence on God in every area of our lives.
  • Pray for a closer relationship with God and hearing His voice.
  • Pray for our city – that God would draw people to Himself and many hearts would turn to Him.
  • Pray for your neighbors – walk your neighborhood several times per week and pray for the people who live in each house.
  • Ask for guidance in your life for the year.
  • Believe God for answered prayer for specific needs.
  • Victory over areas of sin, and asking for forgiveness for our sins – personally and corporately.
  • Invite the Presence and power of God to work in our church and our lives.
