Heritage Christian School

Heritage Christian School (HCS) is a ministry of Heritage Christian Fellowship.  The school is a Private School Satellite Program (PSP) providing support, guidance, activities and storage of school records for homeschooling families.  The mission of Heritage Christian School is to assist families in meeting their goals to provide a quality, Christian education for each of their children.  The school serves as a legal umbrella covering for families who wish to homeschool, as well as for those who prefer not to file their own independent affidavit with the State of California.

Heritage Christian School offers two memberships:
1.     Registered Membership for families who wish to be involved in the activities of HCS and choose to have their records held on file with HCS, and
2.     Support Membership for families who wish to enjoy all the activities and support of HCS but choose  to have their records stored elsewhere.

Enrollment in Heritage Christian School is for families who are committed to regular attendance at either Heritage Christian Fellowship or another Bible-based Christian church.  A signed statement of faith is required, acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as well as the Holy Bible as the inerrant and authoritative Word of God. Members who do not attend Heritage are required to have two member families ‘sponsor’ them.  Once enrolled in the school, families are required to attend two mandatory parent meetings scheduled during the school year and coordinate one school event .

For the current annual tuition, contact the HCS Board.  This fee includes one yearbook per family and online reporting (Registered Members).  The HCS Budget will be available at the first mandatory meeting.
Heritage Christian School is a board-led PSP.  Each family will come under the guidance and direction of the governing Board of HCS in planning the activities for the school.  The primary goal of the activities is to provide ministry/outreach opportunities that serve the Body, as well as educational and fellowship events that compliment, rather that compete with, the activities of Heritage Christian Fellowship.  Each family will take ownership for participation in school activities.

Responsibilities include the planning and implementation of various types of activities, including servant outreach, field trip, holiday party, game day or special events.  Several annual events such as Open House/Talent Night, Demonstration Night, Drama and Graduation Night have become traditions for the school. Regularly scheduled “Moms’ Night Out” events provide support, prayer, and fellowship opportunities to each teacher and family.

If you are interested in becoming a part of Heritage Christian School, please contact the Board at theboard@hcssc.org.   Homeschooling is a wonderful educational experience for a family.
